Advocate and Communicator (Brussels)

As an Advocate and Communicator at Alliance4Europe, you will lead the Counter Disinformation Network´s efforts to give civil society organisations working on the frontline of democracy defence a voice in Brussels and European capitals. You will also build relations with journalists and work with our team to develop social media material to promote our research and the work of our members. The contract lasts until March 2027, with the possibility of being extended depending on performance and funding situation.

This role is based in Brussels, Belgium. Start date: 1st September 2026, with some flexibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage contact with key stakeholders at (EU) institutions, media, governments, and partner organisations.
  • Create compelling content for various channels, including social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Manage media relations, serving as the primary point of contact for journalists and media outlets.
  • Collaborate across project teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.
  • Support in the organisation and coordination of events, webinars, and workshops to engage stakeholders and the public online and offline.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in social sciences, communications or a related field is a plus, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience in advocacy and digital communication
  • Experience working in or with European Union institutions and governments is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency with content creation and WordPress.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in other European languages is preferred.
  • Strong copywriting, messaging, and strategic communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.

Meet your main team contact: Saman Nazari

Open-source intelligence researcher focusing on Chinese and Russian influence operations. Sam is the coordinator of the Counter Disinformation Network, a Pan-European network working cross disciplinary to protect European democracies against influence operations.
